Things I am Grateful For...

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
(I don't know where I would be in my life if it weren't for the knowledge I have of the true gospel of Christ)

My husband Chris
(He is my best friend, my partner and my true love. He is the best father I could have for my children and one of the hardest working people that I know)


My Children
(My children make up most of my world. They are kind, loving and very bright. I couldn't be more proud to be their mother.)


My Parents
(They are always supportive and ready to help in any way they can. They have been wonderful examples to me in so many ways and have raised me to have a true love of Christ.)

My Sisters
(I know that I will always have a good time when I am with my sisters. We have had our bad times and our good times, but no matter what we always love each other and try our bests to be their for one another.)

My Brothers
(I can always count on them for help whenever I need it. My brothers are great examples to me and no matter what I know that they love me.)

My Grandparents
(Who have always loved me and been wonderful examples of love and hard work.)

My In-Laws
(Who do such a wonderful job of making me feel apart of the family. I know I can count on them.)

My Friends
(Who always make me laugh and do such a great job of making sure I am doing well. I know I can always call anyone of them and talk as long as I need to. I know they will always be there for me if I need them.)

My Health
(I am truly lucky that I am healthy enough to carry a baby and to take care of myself and my children.)

My Country
(America is the land of the free. The greatest country in the world and I was blessed to be born an American. Where I have the freedom to worship what I believe and become whatever I dream. I don't have to live in fear of who I am and I own that to God and all the men and women who have fought for our freedom.)

My Material Things
(Things like my house, car, food, clothes, books, movies and all the things that I have thanks to a hard working husband and the blesses of God. I have everything I need plus more and who wouldn't be grateful for that.)

I have truly been blessed with a wonderful family and wonderful friends. I have a beautiful home in a family friendly neighborhood and a wonderful ward. I live close to my family so I don't miss out on getting to know my in-laws and my nieces, nephews and watching my family grow. I am still very much in love with my husband and him with me. My children are such wonderful good boys who love each other, their parents and all the rest of their family. I hope that everyone take some time to think of all the things they are grateful for this week. It really helps to put you back into perspective and really appreciate the blessings you have been given.

Beautiful Bella

Bella spent the whole day outside on Sunday and came in for a few minutes Sunday night to grab a bite to eat and head out again. I hadn't seen her since and was really starting to get worried. Tony her brother kept going outside and coming back in all day yesterday and when he was inside he was either by the door or searching out the window. I think he was worried about his sister Bella.

Last night I had two dreams that Bella came home. Apparently she did because this morning Hyrum was going out back to his bus stop when he came back in to tell me that he found Bella. I went out to see and there she was laying in the gravel at the back of our house. She had frost all over her fur. I went down to see what's going on and realized that she was frozen solid. I tell Hyrum to go on to his bus stop and to not worry I'll take care of her. I was so upset I didn't know what else to do. I ran into the house to grab a towel to cover her up. After Hyrum got on the bus I just broke down and started crying. I felt horrible. I think Tony knows what's going on. He wont leave my side. He wont even go outside. It just breaks my heart.

I know it may seem a little silly to some of you that I would be morning my cat. But Bella was part of our family. Not only were her and Tony the best of friends who did just about everything together, but she loved my boys and she loved Chris and I. She was always so sweet and loving. She would sleep with Hyrum at night and sometimes she would even try to give us all a bath by licking out heads. Of course I never let her do that to me, but it never stopped her from trying. She had the motherly instint to take care of all of us and we are going to miss her very much.

Thank Heaven for little boys!

I think I would be going a little crazy with Chris gone if it weren't for my boys. They make good company and seem to know that mommy needs lots of love these days. Noah loves to snuggle with me and give me hugs and kisses whenever I need them. Hyrum misses his dad very much, but does such a good job of not complaining about him being gone and he makes sure that I take him and Noah out every few days. He wont let me sit around the house and mop. He lets me know when it's been too long since we've gone out and I couldn't be more grateful for that. Thank Heaven for my fun loving little boys.

Chris left for Huston, Texas this morning. He will be gone for 6 weeks before we will get to see him again. I didn't think it would be so hard to see him go, but it was. I think the pregnancy hormones are making things just a little bit harder then they would be. We found out Thursday night that Chris was needed in Huston asap. There is a lot of work to be done there from the hurricane and my brother-in-law Trevor Stephenson has already been down there finding roofs to do. He has quite a few ready for Chris to come in and take care of. Chris will be there until the end of February, maybe longer and the boys and I will be joining him the end of December. Until then I am going to be pretty lonely without my best friend and husband around. I am hoping the holiday season and all the projects I have listed for myself will keep me busy enough.

Vote Yes for Prop. 8

I know this doesn't really affect those of us in Washington right now, but it could eventually make a big difference if it doesn't pass. I really like this video of an interview with Elder Bednar about prop. 8. Elder Bendar is a member of the quorum of the 12 apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a special witness of Christ.

Halloween

First we had to carve our pumpkins!

This was the only time we could even get Hyrum to touch to stuff inside the pumpkin. Right after this picture he had to go wash his hands.

Noah wouldn't even stick his hands in the pumpkin. He kept trying to use a spoon. I had to end up helping him of course, but he did have a good time.

On Halloween night we go over to my brother Joel's house and all the McCombs cousins go trick or treating together. We couldn't get all the kids together to take the picture. But the ones we did get looked so cute.

Hyrum is the Ninja, Noah is the Knight, Porter is the Lion, Garrett is the Monkey, Jenna is Cleopatra and Drew is the Dragon.
